About Merle

Merle was my first Leopard. He was bred by the Garvers from McDill stock and trained by John T. Williams of Brandon, MS. I only owned him for 19 months loosing him due to complications from tick borne diseases. In those 19 months Merle changed my thinking about what a coondog is. He had a good nose and was an excellent track dog, taking the first track he came to and usually showing you the coon. He had a big, beautiful bawl mouth on track and a steady loud chop on the tree. Merle made a Leopard man out of me the second night I had him in the woods.

About Doby

Doby was a nice dog. He had a good bawl mouth and could work a cold track up and show you a coon. I let my friend, Joe Nunley of Greentown, TN keep him out on the mountain. Doby died in the  summer of 2018 from a Rattlesnake bite.
